Why recognition matters
Recognition is one of the simplest, most powerful tools for improving the workplace for everyone.
For your colleague: It shows that their effort matters, boosts motivation, and reinforces the behaviours and values that help the whole team succeed.
For your culture: Frequent, authentic recognition builds trust, strengthens connection, and creates a more positive, high-performing environment.
For you: It grows your influence, strengthens relationships, and makes it more likely you’ll be recognised, too. Not to mention, it feels good to lift others up.
A few thoughtful words can spark better teamwork, stronger morale, and a culture people want to be part of. Why not start today?
Creating Recognition
Creating or editing a recognition is quite simple. From the Company tab on the sidebar, select the recipient(s), select a badge, select visibility, and then enter the message.
Select Recipients
You can select up to ten people for your recognition.
Choose Private or Public Recognition
Public Recognition is visible on the home page. To get to the home page, click the TeamMaven logo on the top left of the screen on the sidebar. On mobile, you'll need to open the sidebar to see it.
Private Recognition is only visible to the sender and the receiver. TeamMaven admins can see the count of both public and private recognitions, but cannot read the content of that recognition. (Unless they are the sender or receiver, obviously!)
Choose a Badge
Badges are a great way of adding more context to your recognition. The badges available to you are unique to your company and are managed by your admins.
When you're done with your recognition, click the submit button on the bottom right.
Updating or Deleting your Recognition
After you've posted your recognition, you might want to update it or delete it and post again. Simply click on the dropdown arrow on the top right of your relevant recognition to do so.
